Connect to the Mason Cluster via Terminal
Certain tasks on the Mason Cluster require commands be executed on the command line. This tutorial describes how to connect to the server for this purpose.
- A Mason Cluster account
- A Terminal SSH client (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
Connect to the Server
** If utilizing an FTP client not listed here, such as Cyberduck, ensure that encryption is SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol). **
- Open up the Terminal application (Located in Applications/Utilities)
ssh firstname.lastname@example.org username appropriately.
- Enter your mason.gmu.edu password and hit enter.
At this point, you should have a
mason> prompt as shown in the screenshot to the right.
